Goats' milk soaps are not a new phenomenon. They can be traced back to the Ancient Greeks, who reaped the advantages of creamy soap on their skin. Here are a few scientific facts:
1) Are your products tested on animals?
Absolutely not! All our guinea pigs are humans! Our recipe has been tested over many years, and we hold a Cosmetic Product Safety Report and relevant insurances for
soap production for human use.
2) Is the soap vegetarian?
It is a common misnomer to presume a milk soap is not vegetarian, when in fact, it is! We use no animal meat fats in the production - just the fats from the milk and oils!
3) Are the soap's colour, and fragrance-free?
Our naked and natural range is completely colour, and fragrance-free, therefore, suitable for the most
sensitive skins.
4) Do your soaps contain Sodium Laurel Sulphate and Parabens?
No artificial surfactants or preservatives are to be found anywhere!
5) Are the soaps smelly like goats' milk?
Thankfully not! During the production process, the smells dissipate to create that lovely soap smell
we all know and love.
6) What about animal ethics and welfare?
Our goats are outdoor reared and grass-fed where possible. In the Scottish winter months, they are housed if necessary, particularly for kidding (goats hate the rain!). They are fed and managed according to their natural animal manifestations - and allowed to just be themselves! Goats are actually very smart and inquisitive animals, and we love them to exhibit what nature intended! We are just naturally harnessing the goodness of their milk, whilst maintaining the integrity of their behaviours.
